Absolutely, it is possible. In Moshi you will find a lot of shop with rental service. But, it is essential that climbers have certain items of their own: these includes, good quality sunglass, sun block, headlamps, and water bottle systems capable of carrying 3ltrs total. Bring some energy and chocolate bars, perhaps some nuts and raisins. Climbers should not think that in rent store you can find everything they need.

The National park rules stipulate that the minimum age for climbing above 3000 meters is 10 years. This is only because altitude sickness can affect children very quickly and dangerously.

There are different types of altitude sickness. The symptoms are headaches, nausea and vomiting, though not everyone suffers from all the symptoms. A much more serious type of altitude sickness is called Oedema. To acclimatize properly, a climber should not climb more than around 300 meters per day, but all ascent on Kilimanjaro are very much faster than that. The most important thing is not to fear it, but to respect it and to know how to deal with it. Our guides have seen every condition that the mountain procedures, and they will always know how to deal with problems.
