Mikumi National Park
Mikumi National Park is easily accessible from Dar es Salaam, and ideal from someone with little time for a safari but wants to view a wide range of wild animals. Elephant, giraffe, buffalo, lion, zebras, wildebeest, leopard, and crocodile are commonly seen in the park.

Northern part of the park is accessible year round. However the best time to visit the park is during the dry season
Why you should Visit
Due to its accessibility, Mikumi National Park is one of the most popular parks in Tanzania for visitors and researchers on ecology and conservation. The Mkata floodplain and the mountain rabgers that boarder Mikumi dominate the national park. Lions, wild dogs, elephant and giraffe make Mikumi a popular destination whole sightings of the powerful eland, the world's largest antelope, make the park unique. Other animals frequently observed include civet, eland, impala, kudu, reedbuck, buffalo, warthog, waterbuck, wildebeest, zebra, crocodiles, monitor lizard, baboon, hippos, python, and over 400 bird species.
