Northern Tanzania Safari 3 Days
The Northern Circuit is the most popular because it hosts the most famous national parks in Tanzania & East Africa. Is a land of superlatives, from Africa's highest mountain to one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on the planet. But Kilimanjaro and the Serengeti are mere starting points to so many journeys of a lifetime. Mt Meru is Kilimanjaro's rival in both beauty and the challenge of climbing it, while the Crater Highlands could be Africa's most haunting landscape. When it comes to wildlife, there's Tarangire's baobab and elephant kingdom, Lake Manyara's tree-climbing lions and the flamingos of Lake Natron.
Activities
ITINERARY 3DAYS NORTHERN TANZANIA SAFARI 2NIGHTS
DAY 1 LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
At 08:00, after breakfast you will be driven to Lake Manyara National Park. It lies at the foot of the western wall of the Rift Valley escarpment, and is particularly famous for its elephant and tree climbing lions. It is also well known for its rich variety of birdlife in both the forest and along the lake shore. Manyara provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania's birdlife. Highlights include thousands of pink-hued flamingos on their perpetual migration, as well as other large water birds such as pelicans, cormorants and storks. Around lunchtime your driver will provide you with personal lunchboxes. After this stop the safari will continue, and by evening you will have Overnight dinner & breakfast at Lodge.
DAY 2 NGORONGORO CRATER
After breakfast, on this day it is best to leave the hotel as early as possible so as you can see the variety of animals that are only active during morning hours. There is a very high possibility of spotting the big 5 in one day: lion, rhino, elephant, buffalo and leopard. Lunch will take place at the picnic site at the crater floor. In the evening Overnight dinner and breakfast will be available at lodge.
DAY 3 TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
In the morning after breakfast your safari guide will be waiting for you to continue the final destination. Now is Tarangire! In this park you have the chance to see lots of wild Tanzanian animals (lions, buffalos, giraffes, zebras etc.), but above all else it is famous for its astonishing number of elephants, who typically tend to stay close to their drinking source, the Tarangire River. At lunch time you will be provided a meal, after which the safari will continue.
Tarangire has the second - highest concentration of wildlife of any Tanzanian national park (after the Serengeti) and reportedly the largest concentration of elephants in the world. Enjoy afternoon safari drives within the national park and head to Moshi at a leisurely pace. En route visit the local art and crafts markets at Mto wa Mbu and drop off at hotel in late evening for Overnight dinner & breakfast in Moshi town.
